This paper describes the 5-year results of a comparative study between Astra Tech and Brånemark system implants. The aim was to compare the systems primarily with regard to bone level changes, and also with regard to other variables of interest. Per-Ingvar Brånemarks stora upptäckt kom till på samma sätt som många andra stora upptäckter, av en tillfällighet. Per-Ingvar Brånemark, född 3 maj 1929 i Karlshamn, död 20 december 2014 i Göteborg, var en svensk anatom, känd för utvecklingen av osseointegration, som är en metod för att permanent förankra implantat i skelettet.
Lennart Linner är specialisttandläkare i käkkirurgi sedan 1983. Han har jobbat vid Halmstads käkkirurgiska klinik, Mölndals sjukhus, Leeds sjukhus och har varit verksam som privat käkkirurg i Schweiz. Lennart jobbar vid Brånemark Center sedan 2004.
